There is also a new type of website called a Text Ad Site. These claim to remove the problems of safelists by creating a no e-mail system. Instead you read messages from within their website. This concept is still very young and doesn’t produce very fast results yet.
The main problem I’m finding so far is that members are not logging in to view ads each day, whereas people check their email often. For now I recommend staying with credit based safelists, although this could definitely change some day.
Next is the Credit Based Safelist. This truly revolutionized the safelist and made it agreat advertising choice. Credit based safelists allow you to email other members, but you have to use credits to send out your emails. You earn those credits is by reading the emails of other members! Generally, the more credits you have the more you can mail the other members. Thanks to this simple idea, people will read your emails and visit your website to earn credits. Credit based safelists are what I use because they give great results and guaranteed traffic.
If you’ve never joined a credit based safelist, you may want to give Elite Safelist a try. It’s a safelist that I belong to and have great results with. It’s run by my buddy Solomon Huey and Elite Safelist is ranked as one of the top safelists by Affiliate Funnel, Traffic Hoopla and Safelist Rankings. So even without my recommendation, you know you are joining one of the best. Oh yea, you can join for free!

OK, so here we go one type of safelist at a time. Please note that some safelists fit into more than one category.
First up, is the original, regular safelist (non-credit based). These are sometimes considered the dinosaurs of safelists. It is just an email exchange service where you can send email messages to members and they can send messages to you. They aren’t very responsive because most people don’t read the emails, however you can still get decent results from the older safelists with large memberships. A lot of the bad stuff you might hear about safelists are from these older versions of safelists.
Till next time.

First, if you join any numer of safelists, expect to receive over 100 emails from EACH safelist every day. Because of this, you should sign up using gmail accounts because then you don’t have to get these messages in your regular mailboxes. Just about every safelist accepts it and it will prevent your account from going intn bounce mode, which is a real pain! If this is something you can’t handle and getting hundreds of referrals doesn’t interest you, then credit based safelists are not for you. But honestly you shouldn’t be concerned since you won’t get these emails are your regular email accounts.
There are two types of email accounts that are needed for safelists:
other members.
generally only a few emails a day.
I personally use Gmail, you can open free Gmail accounts here:
Next we’ll discuss the different types of available safelists.

Clearly a most excellent question! On the most basic level, a safelist is a group of people all willing to receive each others promotions via email in the hopes that their promotion will generate more business. In other words, safelists are many, many “marketers” that have agreed to receive each others email. The drawback is that everyone is trying to sell and no one wants to buy. Some do buy, however, and that’s your market. You just need something that other “marketers” will want or need.
Currently, there are many tens of thousands of members to various safelists, and some are more effective than others. This is what makes them so attractive, since you can immediately be contacting a list of thousands of potential customers in minutes! So it’s easy to see why they can produce fantastic results once you learn how to use them correctly.
Also, there are different types (i.e. web-based and PC-based) that we will explore.
Every single safelist member had to agree to receive your email. That makes these lists “safer” than simply mass-emailing (i.e. spam)
By definition then, that means that safelists are what is known as “opt-in”. Opt-in is when:
The best type of opt-in list (the only ones we use) are known as double opt-in lists. The difference is that after a person signs up for the list, they MUST reply to an email to be activated. This cuts down on programs spamming the list with false emails and also guarantees that someone DID actually want to sign up.
Next time: what to expect when you join a safelist.
